AARP Foundation Celebration of Service Million Meal Pack

1 in 7 seniors in the United States lives in poverty. For the past 8 years, AARP Foundation has led a Celebration of Service to shine a spotlight on food insecurity and senior poverty. The event is held on 9/11, a National Day of Service and AARP’s Annual Day of Service across the enterprise.

Be A Part of the Solution

The mission is to raise awareness and end senior hunger with an inspiring challenge: to pack one million meals and make a tangible difference in the lives of hungry seniors in the D.C. area. The event brings together thousands of local volunteers to tackle this devastating issue by packing more than one million meals on the National Mall, in a single day.

A Turnkey Experience

Annually, Hirschfeld works hand in hand with AARP Foundation, its partners, vendors, and the Capital Area Food Bank to manage the event’s logistics, production, and on-site execution. Months leading up to the event, Hirschfeld works to make sure every I is dotted and T is crossed for a seamless, turnkey event from start to finish. On event day, Hirschfeld staff roll up their sleeves to handle all event day details so that AARP Foundation employees can focus on enjoying the impactful experience.
