ACORE Makes Its Debut in NASCAR

Feb, 22, 2014

The American Council on Renewable Energy (ACORE) and Lockheed Martin became an official partner of NASCAR Green in an effort to deliver information on the benefits of renewable energy, sustainability and energy security to NASCAR fans.

Desired Layout

To support the partnership, ACORE and Lockheed Martin enlisted HMS to create an educational experience that would travel to multiple tracks during the 2014 NASCAR season. The council wanted to showcase ACORE member technology such as solar panels, biofuel demonstrations and wind turbine models. The program also aimed to attract young fans, the future of American renewable energy, by highlighting the value of studying science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) to build a sustainable future.

Build Approach

HMS provided operational support for the three-race signature activation at Daytona International Speedway, Chicagoland Speedway and Kansas Speedway. To educate NASCAR fans on the importance of renewable energy and build awareness, the activation utilized a branded aerotent, touch screen televisions, an interactive energy “Jeopardy”-style game, informational videos on renewable energy and a raffle for a solar-powered mobile device charger.

The HMS team organized the tour, transported the assets, managed event set up and assisted with event execution on-site.

Project Results

The event architects assisted ACORE in reaching more than 10,000 fans through premium item distribution.
